Why Christian Education?
-
Whereas discipline hardly exists in public schools today, we’re able to offer an alternative that ensures students’ safety, which in turn creates a better learning environment. As they learn how to behave from the words of the God who made them, children have been proven to develop into adults who are prepared to face the challenges of their time on this earth.
-
The public system we have today labels parents who express their dissent as “domestic terrorists.” Here at NKCS we understand that not only is parental involvement beneficial, it is crucial to a child’s success. We are your partners, coming alongside you in raising your children. We bolster the faith you teach in your home by teaching all subjects from a biblical worldview.
-
Classes are smaller than those in public schools, allowing students to receive individualized attention from their teachers. This allows those who might fall behind to receive the help they need to catch up, and provides limitless potential for a child’s success in learning. It’s also conducive to stronger relationships with their peers and their teachers.
-
Our Christian teachers, staff and board consider their efforts a divine calling. As God guides, our programs will firmly uphold His Word, and won’t adjust to cater to the whims of the secular world. Your children will be protected from the immoral literature and instruction that is becoming less subtle in the realm of public education, where the truths of God and his relationship with man are ignored and even mocked.
Why North Kern Christian School?
-
NKCS serves families from throughout Kern County who have been delighted to discover this "hidden gem" that offers superior value at affordable prices. Compared to schools in larger cities, North Kern can hold its own both academically and spiritually. Local high schools that receive NKCS graduates testify that these students are more than equipped to handle the rigors of honors, college prep and even college classes. And our successful alumni attest to the excellent preparation they received for real-world challenges. Yes, private school does cost more than public school. And yes, our children are worth it!
-
For over 45 years NKCS has been an oasis of excellent Christian education. Utilizing Abeka, Bob Jones University and ACSI curriculums, our time-tested traditional methods of instruction have proven successful in providing an academically challenging program with the purpose of helping each student achieve growth toward Christian maturity, along with academic proficiency.
-
The ultimate purpose of NKCS is to provide quality education in a Christian environment using Christian curriculum. Every subject is taught with the consciousness that Jesus Christ is to be central to all living and learning.
-
The day-to-day procedures and assignments are intended to encourage and help students become self-reliant citizens. Our Bible-centered instruction leads the minds of your children toward God to encourage them to regard Jesus Christ as the center of their lives and their source of everything, preparing them for a purposeful eternity in service to their King.
-
From extensive libraries to field trips, overnight camps, and weekly chapel services, there’s plenty to offer children to help them to enjoy learning. In addition, various grades enjoy robotics & technology, music, physical education, art, and ACSI competitions such as Math Olympics, Speech Meets and Spelling Bees.
